What inspired me to start? Ever since I was a kid I was fascinated with theme parks and attractions and in particular dark rides, my favorite being Phantom manor (picture top left) and pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland Paris. I was intrigued by the creativity and working behind the scenes that created the magic. Its like a movie set where all your senses are brought into the immersion. I am also a bit of a thrill seeker and always loved the excitement that comes with these types of attractions. but anyway...... are you still with me?...FIRE!!!! sorry about that just checking your still awake ;)

So a few years ago I wanted to start my own scare attraction. You know the ones in America like Halloween Horror Nights in Universal studios. Unfortunately, being the island that we are and regulations that the UK like to put in place it just wasn't viable and would only probably have interest in spooky season. I remember playing an escape room in 2021 with a girl I was dating and loved it but couldn't fathom how they did any of it or where to begin and didn't think I would be able to pull off creating one of these.

In 2024 I decided I wanted to really do something a bit special and create something I could be really proud of and so I thought I love puzzles I love the idea of taking a room and transforming it into an unforgettable experience, and so before I knew it became a bit of a passion project, writing and designing escape rooms.

I ran the numbers and started looking for my first location and found Nikki and Phil who ran the Town House pub in Eastbourne who to my surprise had the space and also shared my enthusiasm for what I was trying to achieve. After a few months of learning to be a jack of all trades (god I wish I listened to you Dad and learnt a trade when I was at college) and learning the realities of what it takes to actually run one of these things we eventually opened after several tweaks and play tests to make sure it was as perfect as it could be and work out all the logistics.

I want to open a second room and i'm currently writing that so stay tuned for another game. Thank you for reading this and I really hope you thoroughly enjoy the experience we've created.
